This richly illustrated book must surely be the first to cover New Zealand's piano history in detail. Being a piano tuner I have long been fascinated with our country's musical past but until reading this book, I was only able to guess much of what happened in those early days. Piano in the Parlour looks affectionally at a time when the piano was our most cherished domestic possesion. Read about the pianos, the players, the teachers, the stores and the tuners of those early days. An informative and entertaining book.
